Cape Meares

This might be my favorite shot from my last trip to the Oregon coast. As you can probably tell, it is a long exposure – probably 15 seconds. What you might not realize is that the image was taken at high noon. A combination of Oregon's gloomy coastal weather and my eight stop variable density filter enabled the shot. I highly recommend a variable density filter for anyone interested in long exposures. Right now I use a Tiffin. At some point in the future, I may look for one with a thinner adjustment ring to help avoid vignetting.
